Canvas Isn’t Connected Yet. Here’s What Works.

GradingPal has no Canvas integration today. You can still grade Canvas submissions with it — here is exactly how, and how to hear from us when the integration lands.

To Be Specific About It

No roster sync. No grade passback to the Canvas gradebook. No app inside Canvas, and no single sign-on. If you have seen a comparison table that says otherwise — including one of ours — it is wrong, and we are fixing ours.

Grading Canvas Work, the Manual Way

Without an integration, the work still moves — it just moves as files. For a single course this takes a couple of minutes at each end.

  1. 1 · Get the work out

Download the submissions for the assignment from Canvas in one go.

  2. 2 · Grade it

Bring the files into GradingPal, add your rubric — or let it draft one — and grade the set. Everything else works exactly as it does for any other class: your grading rules, feedback style, the evidence behind every score.

  3. 3 · Put the marks back

Export the scores and import them into your Canvas gradebook.

It is two file transfers rather than a sync. For one instructor and one course that is a small tax. For a department running fifty sections it is not, and that is why the integration is on our list. You can bring the files in and see what GradingPal grades.

The three-step route for grading Canvas work with GradingPal: export submissions, grade them, import the scores back.

Tell Us You Want It

One field, your email.

Enough people have asked that we are tracking demand.

We will write to you when the Canvas integration is ready, and not about anything else.

Why This Page Exists

We could have left this question unanswered and let you find out after signing up. Plenty of software does. We would rather you knew in the first ten seconds, decided for yourself whether the manual route is workable, and trusted the rest of what we tell you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does GradingPal integrate with Canvas?

Not yet. There is no Canvas integration today — no roster sync, no grade passback, and no app inside Canvas. You can still grade Canvas submissions by bringing the files into GradingPal and importing the scores back into your gradebook, and there is a waiting list for the integration itself.

Can I still use GradingPal if my institution runs Canvas?

Yes. Everything GradingPal does — essays, handwritten work, problem sets, slides, video, your own rubrics, the evidence behind every score — works regardless of which LMS your institution runs. The only difference is that work moves as files rather than syncing.

Will GradingPal build a Canvas integration?

Enough people have asked that we are tracking demand. You can join the waiting list and we will write to you when it is ready.

Which LMS does GradingPal connect to?

Google Classroom, fully — roster, assignments, submissions and grades back. Google Drive works as a file source. Everything else, Canvas included, connects by export today.
